Instruments and
Controls:
The instrument panels and
controls are circa 1950s. I rather like how they look. As is
true for the Skimmer's big brother amphibs (the Grumman Goose and PBY Catalina, for
example), the engine controls (throttle, prop pitch and carburetor heat)
are located on an overhead panel. The hydraulically actuated horizontal
stabilizer trim tab adjustment control in on the floor between the
seats. Toe brakes (on the pilot's side only) allow breaking and
steering. Each toe brake has its own hydraulic cylinder. The airplane
can fly with the instruments and controls as they are.
